Program Manager, Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The George Mason University School of Business is seeking an energetic, organized, and detail-oriented Program Manager to support the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE). This is a full-time staff position with full benefits. This position is funded from external foundation funding, and the position is expressly contingent upon the continuation of such foundation funding.

The Program Manager position has responsibilities in the following areas:
Managing substantial aspects of program operations including scheduling, facilities and equipment, catering, and preparation of any necessary materials, certificates, or evaluations;
Managing customer relations and address requests for information, program support, and program modifications of a non-academic nature;
Managing and providing support, in collaboration with the Advancement and Alumni Relations, to the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Advisory Council;
Supporting the CIE leadership team in program design and delivery including working with student clubs and delivering extra- and co-curricular programming for students and recent alumni;
Responsibility for timely and accurate invoicing and budget management; and
Serving as the primary point of contact for the CIE leadership team.
Providing all aspects of executive-level support to the CIE leadership team managing the planning, communications, and operations for the unit-wide initiative—this position professionally represents the CIE;
Screening calls, visitors, and inquiries; and scheduling appointments and maintaining accompanying electronic calendar;
Preparing reports, correspondence, and other written materials for the CIE leadership team;
Maintaining daily and annual schedule of activities for all aspects of the program;
Providing the full range of administrative and logistic support, and the coordination of external relations activities, meetings and events; and
Working with university applications such as the Commonwealth of Virginia procurement system (eVA) for purchasing goods and services; and the travel requests system to generate and authorizations and reimbursements.
Marketing and Communications:
Assisting the CIE leadership team with website and social media, e-mail newsletters and blogs;
Communicating effectively with stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions;
Keeping all social media and web-related content up-to-date in a timely fashion with error-free content;
Serving as technical support and correspondence for inquiries submitted through the web; and
Providing information and support to the CIE leadership team via feedback through web and social media related channels.
Project management for university-wide Deans' Business Competition including marketing and promotions, application support, and event logistics;
Publicizing promotional materials and other communications to prospective students, faculty, and external stakeholders for CIE events and programs; and
Planning and organizing on- and off-campus events as required.
Special Project Work:
Execute special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CIE leadership team.
Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of all applications in Microsoft Office, database expertise, and e-mail and network applications;
Must have the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in professional environment;
Ability to effectively communicate and work with others to achieve results; and
Good citizenship, an appreciation of the responsibility associated with working for a mission-based organization, and the ability to work well with colleagues.
Experience in senior-level administrative management and support in an academic environment;
Events management experience;
Ability to interact with high-level academic and administrative officials, as well as corporate and government high-level executives;
Experience interacting and negotiating with event venues, managing a budget, and procuring goods and services;
Ability to work effectively in dynamic environment and in support of a high-level management team;
Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills;
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills; and
Ability to work collaboratively with a fast-paced and deadline-sensitive environment.
