Manage digital content team responsible for YaleMedicine.org website content (including feature stories and videos) and Yale Medicine social media channels. Yale Medicine is the clinical faculty practice at Yale School of Medicine (YSM), one of the country's leading centers for biomedical research, advanced clinical care, and medical education. Reporting to the Executive Editor, partner with a community of world-class doctors, researchers and educators, with the goal of increasing the reputation and awareness of Yale School of Medicine among the general public, patients, peer institutions, the media, and potential corporate, foundation and individual donors. Manage the day-to-day strategy and output of a unit producing high-quality text, photo and infographic content for daily distribution over a consumer-facing website, multiple social media channels, print publications, newsletters and syndication partners. Essential Duties: 1. Manage - in conjunction with the leadership team and in-line with guidelines crafted for a YSM brand re-launch - a dynamic, professional, nimble, efficient and integrated editorial operation producing top-notch, professional-standard, fast-turnaround text content. 2. Help to update an editorial style and standards, per YSM guidelines. 3. Maintain the consistency of the aforementioned, with a team of staff and freelance writers. 4. Assign and edit long-form feature stories about the YSM community of patients, advocates, doctors and caregivers. Oversee the creation of photo galleries and infographics. 5. Assign and edit doctor profiles, condition and disease primers, and similar types of short-form informational content. 6. Produce and package content for a broad consumer audience, so that it is clear, informative and compelling for each channel or platform. 7. Help to develop and execute editorial calendars; lead story planning meetings. 8. Collaborate on budgeting and staffing schedules. 9. Shape and nurture talent, helping them develop their voices and roles. 10. Help to create a culture of transparency, collaboration and accountability. 11. Utilize analytics across the operation to understand and benchmark content consumption, user behavior, and staff performance and priorities.

Proven success in delivering top-notch text content, taking stories from conception to completion demonstrating exceptional writing and editing skills.

Proven ability with shaping and growing talent; a hands-on approach to leading by example.
