CVPA Admissions and Outreach Coordinator
The George Mason University College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) seeks qualified candidates to fulfill the role of Admissions and Outreach Coordinator in the Academic Affairs team. The College of Visual and Performing Arts offers degrees in Art and Visual Technology, Computer Game Design, Dance, Film and Video Studies, Music, Theater, and Arts Management. The Academic Affairs office oversees all student academic transactions and operation of the academic programs.
Assist the Director of CVPA Admissions and Outreach with providing direction to programs and administration in the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate arts students and managing the admissions process;
Assist the college and programs in the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate students through event, marketing, and social media coordination;
Plan and implement on- and off-campus recruiting events;
Manage scholarship processing at the college level; and
Manage programming for the Arts Living Learning Community (LLC).
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Ability to handle flexible job responsibilities for the successful operation of CVPA activities and events related to the recruitment and admissions;
Detail-oriented with ability to manage spreadsheets and lists with large amounts of information;
Ability to manage time effectively while working on multiple projects with various deadlines under direction of supervisor;
Exercise tact and confidentiality as a co-worker and support staff;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Strong computer skills;
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills;
Commitment and ability to work collaboratively within a complex work environment;
Experience related to admissions recruitment and/or academic event coordination;
Experience with production of marketing materials (electronic and print preferred); and
Substantial, demonstrated experience in recruitment and/or event planning.
Previous admissions and/or visual or performing arts experience; and
Familiarity with college and university programs, operations, policies and procedures, including the admissions process and the audition and portfolio review process.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
