Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Athletic Communications Assistant/Student Athlete Support Services assists the Athletic Communications Director with all aspects of sports information; represents Kean University at regular season and championship tournament events both on and off campus; acts as Advisor to the Student Athlete Advisory Council; ensures strict adherence to all University, NJAC and NCAA rules and regulations; and does related work as required by the Director. This position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. Some travel is also required.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree is required. Candidate must possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent computer skills and the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population. Two years of related professional experience in intercollegiate athletics, as well as demonstrated skills in media relations activities including website maintenance and the production of athletic publications is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience producing media guides, programs and news releases and in maintaining files and statistics related to assigned sports. Experience with social media platforms, Stat Crew, Adobe Photoshop and Presto/Sidearm Website Content Management Systems is strongly preferred.
