Administrative Support Coordinator
The George Mason University Division of Learning Technologies, within the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), is seeking a versatile, detail-oriented, and self-directed individual to work with an innovative and dynamic group of faculty in a full-time administrative and fiscal support role. The Fairfax-based Division of Learning Technologies (learntech.gmu.edu) supports two graduate-level academic programs and a Ph.D. specialization.
This position will have primary responsibility for:
Managing the day-to-day operations of the division;
Working closely with the division director, faculty, and college and university staff on a wide range of fiscal and grant coordination tasks and initiatives;
Supporting the division's marketing, communication, and outreach efforts;
Providing academic program support to students and faculty; and
Utilizing the university's information systems to generate reports, maintain division budgets, monitor admissions and enrollment, and process related transactions.
Must have a bachelor's degree (or an equivalent combination of education and work experience) and demonstrated professional experience focused on fiscal/administrative tasks;
Strong organizational, time management, coordination, and interpersonal skills;
Excellent oral and written communication capabilities;
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a flexible and professional manner;
Proactive problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn new tasks quickly; and
Familiarity with fiscal, academic and student services coordination—including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, e-mail, and the Internet.
Demonstrated professional experience focused on fiscal/administrative tasks;
Experience working in a higher education environment;
Experience with database management, hiring of temporary personnel, the Commonwealth of Virginia online procurement system (eVA), travel coordination, post-award processes and procedures, and university systems (i.e., Ellucian Banner, Oracle systems, MicroStrategy, Radius, AppReview, etc.); and
Experience with social media marketing is also a plus.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
