NEWS WRITER, Sloan School of Management, to help launch a new, editorial-driven website, Ideas Made to Matter. Responsibilities will include reporting, editing, and writing news articles; developing expert sources; contributing to an editorial calendar; conducting traffic and audience analysis to inform future work; assigning and managing photography and design work; developing email newsletters; and positioning posts for social media.
This position is ideal for a skilled news writer who finds surprising insights in academic research, has an eye for exciting new startups and technologies, and brings global business leaders knowledge they need to build and manage innovative companies.
REQUIRED: a minimum of three years' experience writing for a business, science, or technology publication; comfort writing about finance, economics, and other business topics; experience writing for web audiences and with social media distribution in mind; experience packaging news for digital consumption; strong writing, editing, and copyediting skills; careful attention to detail; knowledge of Associated Press style; familiarity with content management systems and email distribution software; solid editorial judgment and a commitment to accuracy and engaging and meaningful content; and an understanding of design and photography best practices and tools and of analytics and tools for measuring impact and reach of content.
