Stanford Video (http://stanfordvideo.stanford.edu/) serves the campus and community and offers a full range of production options - from high definition broadcast to classroom podcasts; on a full range of formats - from videotape to streaming media.
Under direction of the Executive Producer, the Producer will lead, develop and execute digital media production assignments requiring advanced level skills from original concept through final delivery. This includes creating bids, developing the format, supervising the production crew and post-production, and delivering the program in all required formats.
Work with clients to determine appropriate medium, creates concepts, plans production, and produces media to include logistics, video shooting, music and sound effect selection, computer graphics, animation, digital effect creation, final editing and distribution.
Produce and direct multi-camera programs. Supervise field crews and manage technical aspects including rehearsals, set design, camera blocking, lighting, graphics and overall approach for productions.
Edit assemblies and rough cuts, as needed.
Administration: close projects for billings, help develop strategies, workflows and rate cards for clients, identify vendors and competitive pricing for products and services, make recommendations for purchases and repairs of and diagnose and resolve problems with equipment, maintain positive client relationships and continue to encourage, receive and compile client feedback.
Schedule and oversee single camera productions.
Develop and market services to internal and external clients.
Act as liaison with vendors ensuring scheduling, costs and requirements are met.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Broad knowledge of all aspects of broadcast quality television, including field and studio camera operation, lighting, editing, audio recording and mixing, computer graphics, and special effects.
Knowledge of all production formats.
Editing experience, on either Premiere, FCP, or Avid, is preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and with clients of varying production background and knowledge, assisting in interpreting and solving production problems, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Must possess a positive, service-oriented attitude with a focus on meeting client and departmental objectives; demonstrated commitment and initiative to providing timely, reliable, cost-effective service to clients.
Ability to manage a variety of simultaneous projects within tight deadlines while assisting in maintaining program quality and client integrity on each project; excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and accommodate unusual and demanding hours in order to meet critical deadlines.
Demonstrated support for goals of organization with a commitment to providing Stanford quality work on all assignments.
Demonstrated sense of professionalism and ethical behavior in all related activities.
Experience in using PC/Mac computers in support of pre- through post-production, project tracking, and client billing.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically on occasion.
Experience in comparable organizational/educational setting desired.

University Communications provides support and campus leadership in planning, coordinating and implementing strategic communication programs that support Stanford University and its missions.
