MPR's Morning Edition is a daily news show reaching over a quarter million listeners a week across Minnesota and areas of Wisconsin, Iowa, North and South Dakota. The Assistant Producer OR Associate Producer works closely with a small team in St. Paul to shape the show's coverage of local news. This includes directing the live program (Associate Producer only). Additionally, this producer will brainstorm ideas, book guests for interviews with the host, write scripts and edit audio.
We're looking for a critical thinker, someone who reads (or listens to!) the news every day with curiosity and comes up with new questions that we should try to answer. Previous radio experience is not required -- we expect to hire a quick learner, able to pick up digital editing and writing for broadcast.

This position will be either an Assistant Producer OR Associate Producer -level position depending upon the most qualified candidate's experience. The Associate Producer is a higher-level position that varies from the Assistant Producer as outlined in the description below.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE FOR ASSOCIATE PRODUCER:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Three or more years' production, editorial or related experience. Experience with digital audio editing systems. Experience writing for web based platforms. Familiarity with social media platforms. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE FOR ASSISTANT PRODUCER:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Internship or 6 months to one year experience in journalism, preferably broadcast. Experience with digital audio editing systems. Experience writing for web based platforms. Familiarity with social media platforms. PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PRODUCER:
