WOSU Public Media is in search of creative digital-focused content producer to help expand our digital-first content. The digital producer will be responsible for creating and overseeing the production of original online content including podcasts and online video series. We need someone that can jump in and help create a pipeline of digital-first content that showcase the stories of our diverse community. We are looking for a producer that has audio production and/or video production skills to help us create new digital properties as well as oversee the development of other properties. The producer will also work with the WOSU news team to continue the development of our Hearken powered Curious Cbus series from the collection of audience questions to the production and promotion of stories. In addition to digital-first production, this person will also be responsible for direct messaging to our audience through a variety of email newsletters and push notifications through the WOSU mobile app. The digital producer works as part of the digital media team to engage the WOSU audience across a variety of digital platforms including web, mobile, email and social networks. Other responsibilities include keeping content on our homepage and the rest of the website up to date while also working with other members of the digital media team to share compelling content to existing and emerging social networks.
Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; at least three to five years of digital production for a media organization; familiarity with field producing; ability to write and edit scripts for digital-first productions; ability to write and edit online copy using AP style guideline; familiarity with Content Management Systems; familiarity with SEO techniques and social media practices; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work collaboratively with team members; demonstrated experience with email marketing systems such as Mailchimp.
Audio production, editing skills and experience with Adobe Audition or similar audio editing programs; video production, editing skills and experience with Adobe Premiere or similar video editing programs; demonstrated success in crafting and sustaining a professional social media presence; demonstrated success in growing audience engagement with digital platforms; familiarity with digital analytics; familiarity with public media; self-motivated, self-starter; clear communicator; photography and Photoshop experience.
Target Salary: $47,500.00 - $50,000.00 Annually
