Produces top-quality NPR-style news stories of local and regional interest. Contributes daily to WOSU's local news production on 89.7 NPR News and wosu.org, including in-depth enterprise reporting, investigative reporting, spot news coverage, newsmaker interviews. Serve as fill in on-air host for news magazine programming and newscasts. Engages with WOSU stakeholders on social media channels. Contributes stories to NPR and other national networks. Operates production consoles, digital editing and audio systems, news audio and recording equipment. Participates in on-air fundraising activities, represents WOSU Public Media at public appearances. Performs other duties as assigned; may work evenings and holidays.
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or similar field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; two years full time reporting experience; engaging voice and on-air delivery; excellent writing skills; proven ability to write compelling broadcast and web stories quickly and under tight deadlines; proficiency in use of social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others; strong editorial and ethical judgement.
3-5 years of experience as working journalist with proven record of enterprise and investigative reporting; public media experience; experience working with Adobe Audition or similar audio editing software; experience working with WordPress or similar web content management system.
Target Salary: $21.63 - $23.08 Hourly
