The George Mason University Human Resources (HR) and Payroll Office is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to serve as a part-time Reward and Recognition Assistant. Assist in the planning and execution of large and small recognition events such as Outstanding Achievement Awards, Employee of the Month Ceremonies, and University Day Service Awards;
Provide support to the Reward and Recognition Coordinator through data entry and assisting with various employee engagement initiatives such as Well-being seminars, Who's Walking Wednesdays, and others as needed;
Assist with the processing of reward and recognition requests;
Support the needs of the unit through updating social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and other social media as needed;
Work collaboratively with other units in HR, as well as the larger university community;
Assists with gathering data and metrics to show reward and recognition accomplishments; and
Assist with Reward and Recognition projects.
Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Effective interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including tact and diplomacy;
Ability to prioritize work and willingness to be flexible;
Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism;
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
Experience with collaboration and communication with diverse individuals with differing needs;
Demonstrated experience with data entry; and
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated experience in Human Resources and Payroll, preferably in the field of Reward and Recognition;
Higher education or public workforce experience; and
Demonstrated experience with a Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
