The Office of Strategic Communication (OSC) seeks to hire an experienced Creative Media Manager-Producer.
The Creative Media Manager-Producer will develop and produce a variety of video stories, features and assignments ranging from news/media relations support to marketing communications, recruitment and outreach, most of which is distributed on web platforms including Iowa Now, the University of Iowa website, YouTube and UI social media channels, and occasionally broadcast TV. This person will both collaborate with other video staff and OSC staff on team-based projects and work independently as needed.
Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Cinema, Broadcasting, Journalism, or related field (Communication Studies, Film Studies, Television Production, Media Design, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education and related experience; extensive (typically at least three years) professional experience creating marketing communications video content for organizations; expert proficiency in key facets of video production including writing, filming and sound recording, editing and mastering; must provide link to an edited demo reel (maximum five minutes in length) containing a minimum of three different projects with an explanation of your contribution to each; experience leading team-based projects.
Desirable qualifications include five years of experience producing marketing communications and/or branded video content; exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; proficiency with motion typography, compositing and other visual effects using After Effects, Motion or similar software; experience optimizing videos for social media; experience building YouTube audiences and maximizing the potential of the platform for brand marketing and reputation building.
Salary is $46,000 to commensurate. Application deadline is December 12, 2017, and screening will begin immediately. Projected start date is January 22, 2018.
