The Communications and Documentation Specialist is an integral part of our three-person CRSP Communications and Documentation team. This individual collaborates to create and deliver digital and hard copy technical documents and communications for subscribers and external audiences through web and other electronic communications that increase understanding of our organization's historic research and investable index products and documentation that fosters a positive user experience. A strong work ethic, initiative, flexibility and a willingness to develop and utilize new skills are key to succeeding in this role and growing within CRSP.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Technical Documentation-Working in InDesign, create and update end-user documentation and technical guides that creates a positive experience for academic and practitioner subscribers licensing CRSP's historic financial database products.-Copyediting, proofing and finalize technical documents, such as user guides, product guides, and other related documentation, with a strong focus on quality control and brand standards. -Interpreting necessary data, drawings, and specifications through research and liaison with CRSP technical staff, and inclusion of appropriate graphics into documentation.-Updating template design and formatting as needed (InDesign and Word).-Providing editorial and design support for CRSP Index methodology communications and documentation, such as the annual Index Methodology Guide. -Collaborate with team to develop marketing materials for pre-sales and conference distribution.Digital Communications-Using the Drupal content management system, maintain and update content on the CRSP website. -Working with the Director of Communications, stakeholders, and CRSP subject-matter experts to ensure that website content is accurate, current, engaging and reflects the CRSP content and style standards.-Monitoring for and addressing website issues such as typos, broken links, and functionality errors and usability issues, liaising with the web development team to address more complex situations.-Posting of routine documentation and pricing information such as daily and monthly returns and month-end constituents, and data and data access release notes.-Using Google analytics and other metrics, track and report website traffic.-Developing a consistent CRSP social media presence (LinkedIn, Twitter and Chicago Booth Facebook page) by leveraging CRSP content and news and incorporating social media into communications and marketing programs.Other-Writing web content, technical documentation content and internal communications as needed.-Supporting special projects and the quarterly all-staff meeting on an as-needed basis.-Assisting with updates to the CRSP style guides and the creation of project-specific style sheets.
