As an integral member of the Manhattan College website team, the content manager will be responsible for producing content to support Manhattan College's digital presence including producing videos, managing photography assets, contributing to social media management, and writing content for manhattan.edu.
Section II: Responsibilities
Reports to: Director of Web Communications Supervises: N/A
Independently produces high-quality, on message videos that showcase Manhattan College.
Works with stakeholders to determine video requirements, scheduling and shooting all footage and interviews, editing final video, getting final sign off
Maintains all video equipment
Recruits and manages student workers and freelancers to assist with shooting and editing video
Manages photography assets, including receiving files from hired photographers, keywording photos and uploading photos into digital asset management system
Writes original content for manhattan.edu including feature articles, news articles, blog posts and page content.
Works with campus stakeholders and colleagues in Marketing & Communication department to develop and source story ideas.
Makes updates as needed to existing manhattan.edu and inside.manhattan.edu website content.
Assists with management of Manhattan College's social media properties including maintaining editorial calendar of upcoming content, posting new content daily and responding to questions posted by users.
Monitors social media on evenings, weekends and during emergencies and responds as needed.
Writes and edits articles for alumni magazine and other projects as needed.
Assists with other projects related to Manhattan College's digital communications.
Section III: Qualifications Qualifications
5-7 years experience
Advanced knowledge of Final Cut Pro and videography
Basic Photoshop and photography skills
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
High level of initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
Excellent writing and editing skills, include AP Style
Basic HTML knowledge and familiarity with using a content management system (Cascade CMS experience preferred)
Knowledge of utilizing social media for professional communications
Ability to effectively work with colleagues from across the College ranging from executives to student workers
Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, communications or related
