POSITION TITLE: Senior Director of Strategic Digital and Internal Communications.

The Senior Director’s primary responsibility is to drive communication throughout the campus and externally using an array of digital and traditional communication strategies and platforms for the specific purpose of:
Promoting Molloy College in building its reputation and strategies for recruitment of prospective students using digital platforms
Informing stakeholders of news, policies, updates, outcomes, strategies and accomplishments
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the College’s website, intranet and social media platforms, developing plans for monitoring success, ongoing improvement and increased engagement
Manage the solicitation, storage (hub) and distribution of compelling content (digital, video, image, written) for the College’s website, intranet and social media platforms
Plan, promote and manage an internal communications process that effectively delivers and enhances college-wide communications and advances the strategic priorities of the College
Establish and implement processes and procedures for effective internal communications and the effective use of the College’s digital communications’ platforms, establishing protocols and practices for addressing social media conversations, online news and posts, email content and influencer conversations that may impact Molloy’s reputation
Expand the College’s efforts to position faculty, students and programs as an active and visible presence in the community and region via digital communication platforms
Establish sound working relationships with all constituencies of the College, creating a collaborative atmosphere in order to advance successful communications practices and reinforce branding and messaging through campus-wide and digital communication channels
Provide training for specific employees identified as “leads” for managing departmental communication, web pages, social media, and the Intranet
Promote and manage a project planning atmosphere using project management software
Attend and participate in college-wide committees to gain insight into new pipelines
Build, develop, inspire, motivate and manage a team of proactive, effective and dedicated professionals
Manage the communications’ budget aligned with the priorities of the Office of the President and the College
Assume additional responsibilities as required
Develop and implement a strategic digital communications plan (social media plan, website plan) in line with the College’s Strategic Plan, Marketing Plan, Enrollment Plan and the Internal Communications Plan outlining specific short and long-term goals, strategies, outcomes, templates, processes, projections, timelines, milestones, assessment measures (analytics and conversion rates) and corresponding resources for each medium. Adjust digital, social media, website and internal communications and other new and/or relevant plans as needed.
Develop a process with outcomes to ensure all internal, strategic and digital communications are relevant, on message, on brand, timely, accurate, consistent and continually updated and evaluated as outlined in the strategic digital communication plan and in line with the College’s strategic vision.
Collaborate with numerous offices at the College, including the Office of Marketing and Public Relations, Office of Student Affairs, Admissions, Athletics and the Office of Human Resources on an ongoing basis to ensure content is available in a central location (hub) for repurposing and that it adheres to brand messaging and strategic guidelines. The scope of this position also requires interaction with the Office of Institutional Research, Planning and Information Technology.
Attend seminars and workshops as needed, supporting new and innovative digital strategies.
Serve on College-wide committees, task forces and work groups when needed as an active partner in ensuring internal communications are widespread and understood.

Education and Experience
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven ability to motivate, inspire and coach a team with disparate backgrounds and skills
Experience in effectively managing a communications function and professional staff
Demonstrated ability to think, plan, and execute proactively and strategically with successful results
Able to effectively develop communications strategies and programs that advance the goals and priorities of an academic institution.
Proven communications expertise, from tracking and identification to planning, messaging, measuring, and front-line participation
Successful experience and understanding in using modern communications platforms and channels such as social, digital and interactive media, Intranet, website, etc. – to support institutional objectives
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communications’ skills
Excellent organizational and project management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize work and complete projects on time, within budget and of superior quality
At least 10 years of communications, digital, and social media experience, preferably managing a diverse team of professionals in a complex and dynamic academic environment
Bachelor’s degree in related field (Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media) or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Master’s degree preferred
An understanding of and personal commitment to the mission and vision of Molloy College
Willingness to work additional and non-standard hours. This is a senior level position that requires flexibility to work above and beyond normal working hours.
