This position is the primary social media strategist for Conference USA and will lead the development of the visual style and communication of C-USA online outlets. A bachelor's degree and at least two years experience required, as well as strong creative, design, and communication skills. This position is an integral part of the 5-person Multimedia Team and will work closely with the Communications, Marketing, and Sales Teams on a variety of projects.
•Maintain and promote all of the league’s current social media platforms, while researching new opportunities
•Adhere to C-USA social media guidelines as developed by Director of Multimedia and Multimedia Consultant and approved by Senior Team
•Engage with member school social media contacts and coordinate efforts across the league
•Develop relationships with outside social media partners
•Record regular analytics to evaluate success and growth of social media operations, and report findings to Director of Multimedia on regular basis
•Monitor and engage to develop new social initiatives
•Integrate social media content on league’s website
•Partner with Communications Department to streamline sharing of information (stats, notes, etc.)
•Work in collaborative environment to develop new ideas, establish social media voice, and maintain posting calendar/schedule
•Develop visual style to be used in both still graphics as well as video/broadcast applications
•Adhere to branding/style guidelines for C-USA, member institutions, media partners, and corporate sponsors
•Work to help identify and communicate Conference USA messages and stories through the website as well as traditional and social media platforms
•Work with media/marketing/promotions team to develop and implement ideas to promote the Conference, it’s members, and it’s corporate partners on all multimedia platforms
•Assist with day-to-day production and posting of visual elements (both video and still content) as standalone content or as support to Conference news
•Provide assistance at Conference events such as Media Days, Championship events, etc.
•Some travel required

Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years experience in collegiate athletics or related field required. Candidate shall have proven the ability to plan, develop, execute and engage in effective social media plans. Graphic design skills, creativity, and team-oriented disposition required. Candidate shall possess strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, writing, critical thinking, leadership and problem solving skills in addition to computer proficiency and attention to detail. Moderate travel will be required. Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign required. Experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects and other aspects of video production preferred . Ability to function in Apple/Mac environment a plus.
Conference USA enjoys a far-reaching fan base with its 14 members: Charlotte, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Old Dominion, Rice, Southern Miss, UAB, UTEP, UTSA and WKU.
Debuting in 1995, Conference USA teams have combined for 100 bowl appearances in football, 106 NCAA Tournament appearances in basketball, including three Final Fours, 69 NCAA ba...seball appearances including six College World Series berths, 89 NCAA soccer tournament appearances including four trips to the College Cup, and 39 individual national champions in track and field and cross country.
Success is not limited to athletic achievement as 220 Conference USA student-athletes have garnered Academic All-America honors, 749 have achieved academic all-district laurels and thousands of student-athletes have earned a college degree.
Conference USA sponsors competition in 19 sports – nine for men (baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, tennis, and indoor and outdoor track and field) and 10 for women (basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and field, and volleyball).
The league promotes the scholar-athlete ideal, honoring outstanding academic achievement with numerous conference-sponsored awards, including the Commissioner’s Honor Roll and the Commissioner’s Academic Medal as well as sport-specific All-Academic teams.
C-USA annually awards postgraduate scholarships, along with the Sport Academic Awards, Scholar-Athletes of the Year and the Institutional Academic Excellence Award. Additionally, Conference USA presents a Spirit of Service Award three times each year, recognizing student-athletes who excel on the field, in the classroom and give back to the community through significant service efforts and participation.
The conference’s footprint is concentrated with 14 members in 10 states and a combined area population of more than 30 million. With a commitment to community involvement, the conference developed several initiatives to maintain strong ties in C-USA cities, as well as with fans and alumni across the country. C-USA schools also place a priority on giving back to their communities through volunteer service with local and national organizations. Individually, student-athletes are recognized each season through the Spirit of Service award.
