Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, AFT position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Note: This position is in the "NL" category of employment (non-fixed work week) An AFT- NL professional staff member or librarian who is required to work beyond 35 hours shall be compensated through compensatory time off. Compensatory time shall be earned for hours worked beyond the normal work week, or on an employee's regular day off, if requested and approved by their supervisor.

Job Summary: Reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, the Donor Relations Coordinator aids Ramapo College Foundation/Institutional Advancement in providing donors with the highest level of care throughout the donor cycle.
A seasoned nonprofit professional, strategic thinker, and project manager, s/he will undertake the logistics and planning for the Foundation's key donor-facing events, prepare presentations, communicate directly with donors, coordinate cultivation needs, including but not limited to:
Capital Campaign dinners and events Annual Holiday Open House for major gift donors Major gift cultivation and stewardship activities/events Business Partner fall and spring luncheons Travel with Ramapo Professors Program Annual Fund Leadership Recognition dinner Planned Giving fall and spring cultivation events Legacy Society dinner Summer Concerts Friends of Ramapo/Alumni Course Audit Registration Staff Appreciation Holiday luncheon Support Staff breakfast Family Day presentations
In this role, he/she will directly assist the Vice President of Institutional Advancement with her portfolio of donors, as well as provide support to other the other development officers in advancing donors through the moves management process. S/he will participate in monthly prospect management meetings, aiding in the execution of next steps. Oversight of the Foundation Mentorship Program will also be the responsibility of the Donor Relations Coordinator.
The Foundation benefits from a number of alumni boards of volunteers: the Board of Governors, the Alumni Association Board, and all Alumni Advisory Boards. The Donor Relations Coordinator would provide operational assistance to these important volunteer groups by coordinating logistics for their meetings throughout the year.
An exceptional writer, s/he would contribute to the quarterly alumni magazine, help draft solicitation materials, and request press releases. S/he will maintain a calendar of communications for the department, regularly update and revise the donor acknowledgement process and procedures as needed, and any other related communications. He/she will assist with donor recognition signage, interviews, testimonials, Web page updates, and social media opportunities.
The Donor Relations Coordinator interfaces with internal and external executives, board members, and high net worth donors, and, as such, s/he must have experience with interacting comfortably and professionally with these constituencies. Supports efforts of the Business Partners when they schedule campus events or meetings.
The Donor Relations Coordinator will be responsible for helping the development team achieve aggressive annual fundraising goals that align with the College's and the Foundation's strategic plans. As such, s/he may be assigned to other projects and responsibilities to achieve these objectives.
• Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis
• Two years of professional experience in a similar role is required.
• Experience in a similar role in a Foundation is preferred.
• Event planning experience is required.
• Must have strong project management skills
• Completed coursework in project management is desirable.
• Exceptional writing and editing ability and effective written and oral communication is required.
• Nonprofit experience and understanding of the fundraising process is essential.
• Ability to independently problem-solve and effectively interact with varying constituencies is necessary for success in this role.
