The Digital Media Specialist is responsible for designing digital media campaigns aligned with campus goals; coordinating the creation of digital content (e.g. website, videos, blogs, social media posts and podcasts); establishing our web presence to boost brand awareness for IUPUC; maintaining a consistent brand voice for the campus across multiple platforms; monitoring and reporting on return on investment and key performance indicators for digital campaigns.
The ideal candidate will feel at home in the digital world increasing engagement with audiences on social media, developing and implementing content on the web, and managing digital marketing initiatives. This position requires someone who can be both creative and analytical.
REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Business, Marketing, Communications, Informatics, New Media, or a related field, plus 3 years of experience in digital marketing field.
Outstanding graphic design, web design, and digital marketing skills, along with demonstrated success in building awareness and reaching key audiences using digital mediums. Solid analytical and problem-solving aptitudes and skills essential for analyzing business processes and systems, identifying and resolving problems, recommending solutions or modifications, and ensuring both data integrity and consistency in look and feel of messaging.
Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems and tools and social media management and tools. Knowledge of and/or experience in utilizing the following tools: Cascade Server web content management system (WCMS), Google Analytics, Google AdWords, HootSuite, existing and emerging social media tools like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Periscope, SnapChat, and Vine.
Strong technical skills and experience with a wide variety of software and digital platforms including Adobe Creative Suite, Exact Target e-mail marketing, SharePoint intranet, audio and video production, and webinars. Have the ability to effectively and confidently design, code, maintain, manage and troubleshoot websites, including microsites and landing pages, with particular expertise in website content management skills, SEO, SEM and analytics.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, including a customer service orientation. Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking skills including ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively in a leadership role with colleagues of varying technology skill levels. Experience working with a range of content owners and with a copywriter to synthesize, design and produce a wide variety of digital and print marketing materials and CRM campaigns, including e-mails, newsletters, advertising, collateral, event promotion, podcasts, and videos.
A passion for learning, change, and thinking outside the box to propose and implement new campaigns, seek process efficiencies, and implement innovative solutions.
Experience in Web content management (including analytics and search engine optimization), social media management, and customer relationship management preferred. Experience in higher education, a full-service marketing agency, or a news media outlet is desired.
