The Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies Program (WGSS) at Yale offers a variety of courses and an undergraduate major (BA) as well as a graduate certificate. The Program establishes gender and sexuality as fundamental categories of social and cultural analysis.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies (LGBTS) at Yale promotes innovative interdisciplinary scholarship and teaching on the historical and contemporary experience of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender people. As an interdisciplinary committee, LGBTS organizes and co-sponsors scholarly lectures, conferences, film screenings, and other events; provides research grants to faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates; co-sponsors the WGSS colloquium; and works closely with WGSS to coordinate LGBTS course offerings.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Senior Administrative Assistant for WGSS and LGBT Studies provides comprehensive, high level administrative and financial support for both Women's Gender and Sexuality Studies and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Studies Programs including, but not limited to:
1. Workday finances. 2. Undergraduate and Certificate Registrar duties for WGSS. 3. Event planning and execution. 4. Scheduling and managing complex calendars. 5. Preparing and distributing materials for meetings as well as taking minutes. 6. Keeping Social Media updated about Program events and news; managing messaging system email groups. 7. Hiring and overseeing student employees. 8. Assisting with preparing and distributing the annual Program Newsletter. 9. Screening/routing calls, mail and emails. 10. Ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies. 11. Organizing and maintaining electronic and paper files. 12. Assisting with various projects in support of both the WGSS and LGBT Studies Programs as needed.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Experience with the following:
Workday Finances and Registrar duties.
Knowledge of University Academic and Financial Policies.
Event Planning and Coordination. Interest in Women's Studies and LGBT studies is strongly preferred.
Required Licenses Or Certifications:
Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
