Digital Content Strategist & Production Coordinator for Internal SOM Website
Rowan University is seeking a Digital Content Strategist & Production Coordinator to become a key member of the Web Services team located in the Division of Student Affairs with an emphasis on Rowan?s School of Osteopathic Medicine. This position offers expertise in both digital content development and the effective use of technology to engage audiences based on data and forward thinking philosophies. The incumbent will collaborate with all members of the Web Services team to increase the brand?s digital fluency and contribute to the internal dissemination of information for Rowan University?s School of Osteopathic Medicine via its internally focused website(s). The role will work alongside talented digital professionals (Web Development team, User Experience team, Social Media team and Insights & Campaign Management team) to develop content that supports the digital needs of RowanSOM?s internal constituencies (faculty, staff, students, etc.) The Digital Content Strategist & Production Coordinator will audit needs across RowanSOM?s digital portfolio, and propose solutions that are realistic within the current structure of our digital platforms and internal/external resources available.
The incumbent will be familiar with website analytics, digital campaign management, social media, statistical analysis and data mining, conversion tracking and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Digital Content Strategist & Production Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Web Services and indirectly to the Chief Operating Officer of RowanSOM in order to align requirements of projects with the strategic priorities of the School of Osteopathic Medicine and the overall institution, the division and the department. The Digital Content Strategist & Production Coordinator contributes content strategy and development for RowanSOM?s internally focused website(s) as well as web-based special projects, internal social media and targeted content delivery. Working with website section owners, digital content producers, designers, and developers, you will optimize web pages and occasionally contribute to campaign based landing pages, etc. Some evening and weekend hours possibly required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Coordinate and maintain content on pages/sites throughout the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine Internal Website, as well as occasionally support landing campaign pages and external web-based needs.
o Coordinate messaging for Rowan SOMs internally facing social media channels, under the guidance of the Social Media Coordinator.
o Measure, analyze, and recommend high-level steps to create more cohesive content.
o Define a content strategy to help develop great digital experiences to successfully impact Rowan University?s customer experience.
o Close collaboration with Director of Web Services, Social Media Coordinator and Insights & Campaign Management on key areas of digital intelligence (Social, Search, SEO, Analytics, Customer Data).
o Work closely with User Experience team and Insights & Campaign Management team to track keyword behavior in search engines and Rowan University internal traffic to anticipate what users will type into search engines.
o Ability to learn to use our business intelligence tools and business reporting tools.
o Working with the User Experience team to conduct A/B and multi-variant analytical testing strategy, execution and reporting to create the best set of content for any given page/site.
o Working understanding and practice of other interactive marketing pieces such as conversion tracking, PPC and SEO.
o Ability to work with cross-functional teams in managing and driving products.
o Expert at prioritizing, communicating and negotiating projects and timelines.
o Collating weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
o Researching and implementing the latest industry digital content development standards and best practices.
o Some evening and weekend hours possibly required.
All applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent education.
- At least three (3) years of experience in content development field, preferably with an emphasis in writing and/or editing content, production of editorial calendars, digital campaign management and/or market analysis.
- Understanding of web-based technologies such as content management systems.
- Ability to work independently AND as part of a larger team; solving problems with minimal supervision.
- Experience interacting with end users and project clients (those with or without technical skill) throughout the development process.
- Skillful in creative problem solving, negotiating and resolving conflict.
- Deadline oriented & works well under pressure.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A strong customer service orientation.
