|Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Communications, the incumbent implements programs and activities designed to enhance the public's understanding and appreciation of the School of Social Welfare?s various events, programs and people with assistance in the following areas: |
? Assists in graphic and other visual design communications for a variety of high quality marketing communications materials, such as logos, info graphics, images for websites or social media, brochures, magazines, pamphlets and other promotional material. ? Assists in gathering and preparing news/information/images about the School of Social Welfare and its programs for dissemination through social media, the internet and relevant institutional components. ? Photography such as staging and shooting photos, shot list development, applying photo treatments, editing and cropping photos, and cataloging photos. ? Videography and video production such as story development, shot list development, staging and shooting video, film review, video creation and editing, dubbing and sound sweetening, or other video production skills. ? Responsible for assignments related to website maintenance, including updating existing webpages and creating new webpages, as needed, with provided images and content. Working knowledge of Drupal content management system required.Knowledge/Skills: ? Working knowledge of the campus, its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives, programs and infrastructure. ? Ability to identify new and interesting aspects of programs and services and recommend approaches to promote them. ? Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. ? General knowledge of usage and applications of technical equipment (such as web tools like Drupal, design tools, or camera equipment) and skill in using relevant technical equipment. ? Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere in both Mac and PC environments. ? Comfort using social media to promote the School?s constituents and programs (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn). ? Strong written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills and political acumen. ? Ability to be forward thinking to keep abreast on the latest communications technology and practices. ? Working knowledge of production processes and vendor requirements for a variety of products. ? Working knowledge of applicable publishing software applications. ? Working knowledge to maintain databases for desktop publishing and image storage. ? Skills to effectively produce visual materials that meet and satisfy the needs of the client. ? Highly developed organizational skills. ? Skill to maintain confidentiality. ? Interpersonal communications skills to interact effectively with a variety of clients, support staff and vendors. ? Skills in collaboration to best meet goals and objectives of clients. Education/Training: ? Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training This is a 50% time position (20 hours per week variable) with full UC benefits.
