The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) is an independent research center at the University of Washington. Its mission is to monitor global health conditions and health systems, as well as to evaluate interventions, initiatives, and reforms. It uses cutting-edge techniques to tackle some of the most difficult and most critical questions in global health and find answers that will become the foundation for better policies and, ultimately, better health.
IHME has an outstanding opportunity for a Drupal Developer to join our team. Our websites are highly visible and are often featured in news outlets, journal publications, and online resources; they are also instrumental in helping policymakers around the world make informed decisions to improve people's health. Our development team is looking for an experienced developer who can leverage the Drupal framework to create new websites and extend the features and functionality of existing Institute websites. Additionally, the developer will provide routine maintenance and support for IHME's Drupal sites. The Drupal Developer will report to the Assistant Director of Visualizations and Web Development.
Utilize the Drupal framework to build new websites and extend existing websites with custom module and theme development.
Migrate Institute websites to Drupal 8.
Test and debug new and existing web functionality across browsers, including mobile.
Maintain thorough documentation of all programs and procedures.
Work closely with Project Managers, Product Owners, and other members of the IT team to collect requirements, estimate work, and ensure that projects are delivered according to schedule.
Provide routine maintenance and upgrades for Institute websites.
Assist with design for new websites and features.
Perform other duties as required.

Development experience with Drupal 7, including custom module creation and responsive theming
Knowledge and familiarity with Drupal 8 development and configuration
Working knowledge of Drupal APIs, like Form, Views, Batch, and Queue
Experience using Composer dependency management
Outstanding interpersonal skills, including team ethic and relationship building
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; exceptional decision-making skills
Ability to deliver quality systems and work under constant deadline pressures
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Desire to improve development processes and workflows
Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies
Experience using Unix command line and cli tools like Drush or Drupal Console
Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies
Knowledge of continuous deployment and tools Jenkins, Hudson
Experience with source code management tools like Git and Subversion
Interest in the promotion of global health
