The University of Oregon, an NCAA Division I institution and successful member of the Pac-12 Conference, is currently accepting applications for the position of two (2) full-time interns in the Athletic Communications Office. The positions are 12-month appointments from July 1, 2017-June 30, 2018. There may be some flexibility in the start date. Both report directly to the director of athletic communications. Responsibilities include direct involvement with all 21 intercollegiate programs while overseeing Olympic sports as assigned, in addition to social media publicity efforts, creating and developing on-line content, writing news releases and feature stories, designing online media guides as well as assisting with the production of various game programs. The position will also have duties associated with various NCAA Championship events hosted by the University of Oregon.

Successful candidates should exhibit a strong proficiency in standard industry programs, such as InDesign and PhotoShop, plus a familiarity with various types of social media. Experience in web site editing and statistical programs is also a plus. Minimum qualifications include an undergraduate degree and one year of experience in the sports information field in a college or professional sports setting, or equivalent.
Additional Salary Information: Salary averages approximately $1,775 per month, with partial medical benefits. Additional income may be available through lending statistical assistance during network television and radio broadcasts.
