Description of Responsibilities: This is a non-tenure leading position for a one-year term, but comes with other faculty rights and benefits and is compatible with professional practice in biomedical informatics in the community. Will teach four courses in Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI) over two semesters, engage in professional practice, collaborate with students on research or experiential projects, assist the BHI director in service activities, and promote students’ ability to succeed in a global community.
In addition, this position will be expected to display a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research / professional practice, commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.

Description of Department: The Computer Science Department is a highly progressive department with a vibrant and active faculty and students. Our department currently offers a Computer Science degree, an Information Science degree, and a Software Engineering degree. We also offer a Master’s of Science in Biomedical and Health Informatics and jointly offer a Master’s Program titled Human Computer Interaction (HCI) which has a significant Psychology component with emphasis on both human factors and software engineering. Recently, a number of new graduate programs have been created including a Professional Science Master’s in BHI, a Professional Science Master’s degree in HCI and graduate certificates in Integrated Health Systems and Health Information Technology. We also participate in offering interdisciplinary programs in Cognitive Science and Linguistics.
