The University of Pittsburgh's Swanson School of Engineering is seeking a Content Manager/Editor to support the Department of Bioengineering's visibility and branding. The Content Manager/ Editor will be embedded in and report to the Swanson School's Director of Marketing and Communications and work closely with the Bioengineering Department Chair; will assist with web content, social media, copywriting and editing, and external communications. Utilizing strong writing and audience-awareness skills as well as fluency in HTML, the Content Manager/Editor will coordinate production of a variety of strategic and operational communications including feature articles, news releases, digital signage, one-sheets, website content, videos, targeted events, social media campaigns, internal communications, and other print materials.

The preferred candidate will possess a Master's Degree in communications, computer science or a related field from a 4-year college or university, as well as 2-3+ years of experience. Fluency with HTML code is required as well as writing/editing skills. A science writing background is preferred. Desired skills include basic image resizing and cropping (photography), videography and social media engagement, content management system experience, and familiarity with CSS. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work in a team environment and to interact professionally with the university community. Receptive and open to the opinions of team members, colleagues and supervisor, with an ability to interact professionally with the university community. Creative, detail-oriented and self-motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality. Strong organizational, time-management and multi-task skills with ability to work on multiple assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Ability to research and organize information from a variety of sources and accurately communicate in written form to a variety of audiences. Proficient in word processing and web software.
