Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Administrative Director of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate, the Coordinator is responsible for developing, strategizing and executing the Center's Social Media initiatives and goals, managing daily Center operations, and organizing and overseeing various curricular events and activities.
1.Independently manages the Center's social media accounts, identifying ways to continually improve exposure, increase followers, reach broader audiences, improve interactions, and engage current students, while also effectively promoting the Center's faculty, alumni, research and activities, and advancing the Center's strategic communication and marketing initiatives. 2.Leads the planning and execution of various academic events such as Coming to Terms: Negotiating Joint Ventures; a full day, multi-school, co-sponsored academic competition, MBA Real Estate Program Open House panels and receptions, and the sponsored Project Class final presentation and awards dinner. As it relates to the academic competition, incumbent will manage sponsorship invoicing, and reconciliation. 3.Develops an organized system for managing Teaching Assistants and guest lecturers in the real estate courses, continually looking to improve processes and communication, and identifying opportunities for possible synergies with other Center initiatives. 4.Manages the Center's event and contact management system, CiviCRM, ensuring that all users are trained appropriately, that the web based system is being used to its best functional ability. Will also initiate and oversee to completion, projects as needed, in coordination with the Center's contracted CiviCRM consultant. 5.Oversees pre-event and post-event production tasks, making sure that quality and brand standards are being met, historical data is preserved and maintained, and alumni information is current. 6.Evaluates real estate case writing requests and opportunities, submitted to the Center for consideration, and in Coordination with the Assistant Director, will manage the process for production with Columbia CaseWorks. 7.Manages written communication to prospective students, industry partners, and/or alumni, facilitating requests for information, providing introductions to current real estate students, and working to promote alumni news. 8.Independently develops and manages a system for reconciling and reporting business expenses across projects, in coordination with the Administrative Director. Reconciles vendor and event invoices according to corresponding segments and budgeted projects. The Coordinator will individually hold the P-(purchasing) Card for the Center, and will be solely responsible for managing use of card, and reconciliation of relevant approved purchases in ARC system according to required protocol 9.Oversees the daily operation of the Center, ensuring that materials are updated and maintained, publications and subscriptions are renewed and circulated, and reviews current processes for improvement and efficiencies. 10.Functions as a liaison with Business School and University offices, as directed. Performs related work and special projects for the Administrative Director and the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate, as needed.
General Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and/ or its equivalent required. Minimum 1-2 years related experience required.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: The incumbent will be a self-sufficient, motivated, punctual, team member, with exceptional attention to detail and superb communication skills. Will be able to able to function independently in the role, exercising discretion and good judgment. Facility with design of presentation materials required. Ability to work with changing priorities and deadlines required. Must be proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite Pro (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Occasional early mornings and evenings required.
Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in HTML, INDD and with a CRM system preferred. Familiarity with high level business practices. Interest in real estate is beneficial.
