Description This is a full-time exempt term position lasting six months to one year Supports the Director, Content Strategy in writing, producing and publishing content--micro, short and long format pieces--for the purpose of promoting the school to prospective students, alumni, media, other academics and the business community at large. This position reports into the Director, Business News & Communication. Key Functions and Expected Performances: Creates content in alignment with content strategy and editorial calendar. Conducts interviews and gathers information through all available channels. Attends school events as needed to develop a compelling perspective for stories. Generates and pitches fresh story ideas based on community interactions. Writes or oversees production of assigned stories. Coordinates video and photography needs with the Digital Assets Coordinator. Posts stories on the Vanderbilt Business website, compiles electronic newsletters and posts to other channels as required. Creates and publishes social media postings promoting own stories as well as others created by the Marketing & Communications team. Tracks and analyzes performance of social channels in order to improve efforts. NOTE: A Term position is a staff position that exists for a period longer than six months but is not expected to last beyond one year. Although a position may exist for a specified or indefinite period, staff who accept term positions are not guaranteed employment for the entire period; they are employed for indefinite periods within the limit of the appointment. There are no guarantees of continued employment, either within the term or when the term ends.
