We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Coordinator in the Orthopaedic Surgery Department. To qualify a Bachelors Degree in Healthcare or Communications is required. Bachelors Degree in Healthcare or Communications field required. One to two (1-2) years of relevant experience preferred including social event planning, coordinating reunions, facilitating regional events, developing and executing social media accounts Strong verbal and and written communication skills required.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Manager of Communications and Special Events to promote and enhance the reputation of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Will be primarily responsible for handling special projects related to the Alumni Association of the Orthopaedic Surgery Department. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Create and maintain an online alumni database accessible to graduates and current faculty of the Department.
Create and maintain an e-newsletter for the Alumni Association.
Assist graduates and future graduates of the Departments education program with any issues related to the alumni association including, but not limited to: social event planning, coordinating reunions and facilitating regional events.
In collaboration with the NYULMC Marketing and Communication departments, develop and execute communication strategies for the social media accounts of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Alumni Association as well as assisting in the periodic mailings, email updates, and Association website updates necessary to keep all alumni and faculty up to date on events and projects.
Assist in the planning and execution of Department special events including: graduations, receptions, retreats, reunions, honorary dinners, other events. (Travel of one to two times per year is required)
Assists in all office work including but not limited to answering phone and email queries, handling accounts payable and receivables, communicating with outside vendors and other business centers in the Medical Center.
