NYU's prestigious Leonard N. Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Production Manager to manage, maintain and expand the services offered by the Studio at Stern, a multimedia production studio. The Assistant Production Manager will advise faculty, students and employees on full-cycle production and post-production activities, including making recommendations on design, style and editing to ensure best quality. The selected candidate will facilitate live uplink of faculty interviews for broadcast and support all aspects of digital recording for many ad hoc requests, such as such as faculty discussion forums, news, marketing, corporate, educational, and special event coverage videos.
The selected candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in relevant production, studio and post-production. S/he will have strong communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, depending on production projects and Studio needs. Experience operating all aspects of audio and video production technologies and creative proficiency shooting with HD video and DSLR cameras is essential. The selected candidate will have a working knowledge of audio and lighting techniques for video or film. Fluency with Adobe creative software with special emphasis on Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop is required. S/he should have a working knowledge of script writing for short form video and the ability to conceptualize ideas in a creative, non-traditional way. Familiarity with 3D modeling and animation software (e.g., Cinema4D) is preferred. Some understanding of compressing and streaming video content via social media and internet delivery is desirable. On occasion, the selected candidate will be required to handle, lift and maneuver cameras and equipment to and from a production shoot assignment. Previous experience in an academic setting is preferred.
