The Assistant Director will extract and analyze data for use in preparing donor/prospect profiles and reports that include database information, statistics, web/social media analytics, trends and financial figures. This position will also assist staff regarding fund-raising strategies, prospect management and other institutional objectives, within the context of the research conducted. Responsibilities: Identify new prospects as potential funding sources for strategic University priorities Conduct prospect research utilizing a variety of research techniques and resources including print sources, archival files, on-line computer databases, the Internet, and other available public repositories of information Respond to request inquiries and prepare concise written reports that include detailed biographical information, giving trends & analysis, fully-developed financial analysis (net worth/asset analysis), and estimated giving capacity. These reports will consist of prospect profiles, summaries, lists, charts, graphs, spreadsheet, rankings, and assessments in a variety of formats Help with identification and use of new products, methodologies, on-line databases, and software that will further enhance the department's ability to advance its mission using the most up-to-date and advanced methods. Assist in training and answering of questions concerning staff portfolios and Department prospect management systems Complete special projects and other tasks related to research as assigned by the Director of Development Research (i.e. screening analysis, etc.) Communicate with staff regarding reports produced, suggested strategies, prospect identification efforts, research methods, research status, & follow-up research requests Strategize with the Development team to assist in reaching annual fund-raising goals Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants: Bachelor's degree required. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the prospect research field preferably in higher education. Higher Education development is desired. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of current trends in philanthropy and higher education as well as advanced analytical and research skills. Familiarity with databases such as LexisNexis for Development Professionals (LNDP), Wealth Engine, iWave, LiveAlumni ,Ellucian Colleague and Reeher is desired.
