We partner closely with various campus entities?from the chancellor, deans and faculty members, to staff, students and alumni?as well as external media organizations who help us amplify Berkeley's important contributions across a wide range of subjects. Digital content creation:
?Keeps the Berkeley gateway site content fresh, engaging and dynamic, with a mix of curated stories, edited content, and reimagined stories ?Responsible for sourcing digital content from other campus units and leveraging it to tell the Berkeley story in a compelling manner consistent with the brand positioning ?Creates thematic home pages for milestone campus events, E.g. new student welcome, Nobel prize wins etc. ?Writes 'Critic Choice' highlights to promote campus events ?Manages and supports the rollout of brand marketing initiatives and campaigns ?Works closely with the design team on projects requiring creative ideas and copywriting
Social media creation and support
?Manages daily content and provides analytics on select social media channel(s) ?Provides high level of support for social media monitoring and response during campus emergencies and high news events? A storyteller, first and foremost, with a fount of innovative ideas and an instinctive ability to bring them to life in unique, compelling ways ?Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, editorial style, and punctuation, including skill to write in a clear and lively style. ?Thorough knowledge of marketing and advertising processes, and experience in creating marketing communications materials ?Thorough knowledge of key social media channels, protocols, campaigns and analytics ?Experienced user of social media channel(s) for professional or personal reasons ?Thorough interpersonal communication skills. ?Working knowledge of computer applications for image handling, publishing and design, presentation preparation, , and/or other state-of-the-art web communication capabilities. ?Working knowledge of content management systems and/or relevant web applications used for web site production
Education/Training: ?Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
