The Department of Informatics in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a tenure-track position in software engineering. The search is comprehensive and we encourage applicants from a broad range of backgrounds to apply. The department is highly interdisciplinary, which in no small measure contributes to our international reputation as an innovative site for research and education in information technology and its applications. Software engineering is a long-standing strength in the department, with five current software engineering faculty, vibrant undergraduate and graduate programs, and a strong connection to industry. We seek to further bolster our reputation with the recruitment of a new scholar who will thrive in and add to this environment. Our search is intentionally broad. We appreciate scholarship of all varieties, whether empirical, technological, methodological, or analytical in nature. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field and exhibit a compelling research portfolio as well as a clear vision for teaching.
