Carnegie Mellon University's top-ranked business school, the Tepper School of Business is searching for a front line Communications Analyst to craft the public-facing brand. You will contribute to the department by developing and deploying specific marketing strategies for Tepper social media sites, and coordinating the digital initiatives that complement the school's marketing programming.
As one of 10+ marketing channels, social media efforts are at the leading edge of the higher ed industry and support objectives related to engagement and business goals. Alongside the responsibility for overseeing social media, is the responsibility of coordinating content across all marketing channels, and working closely with content owners, creators and managers in order to lend a macro view of how news and information is developed, distributed and evaluated. This is a high-profile opportunity to collaborate across operating units, bring content into the digital sphere, and influence important target audiences.
Core responsibilities will include:
Decision-making and implementation of social media:
Build and implement a social media strategy and marketing plan through peer bench-marking, analytics, department feedback, messaging and targeting.
Write, develop and implement online content, independently or working with marketing and communication colleagues.
Create a weekly/monthly calendar of social media posts/content.
Work with internal colleagues, operating units, Central CMU marketers, students, Dean's Office, etc. regarding social media and content creation, scheduling, distribution and analysis.
Conduct and share social media analytics to assess post campaign effectiveness with the aim to positively affect outcomes.
Moderate, as appropriate, user-generated content and messages based on school policies.
Coordination of content:
Supervise a portion of multiple individuals' responsibilities: 10% allotment for assistant director of media relations, communications manager, designer and associate director(s) of digital marketing to ensure accountability and collaboration regarding content creation, scheduling and distribution.
Create, coordinate and share a weekly/monthly channels calendar highlighting content-by-channel in response to plans and feedback from colleagues.
Collaborate with internal colleagues responsible for external content creation, including Life at Tepper blog, PR, website, video,etc.
You should have strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly copywriting and research skills, and be a teammate reflecting outstanding collaboration, curiosity, and creativity skills. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication or related field required.
Minimum three years' experience in digital marketing and social media; 5-7 years preferred.
Demonstrated experience with social media platforms.
Demonstrated knowledge of project management, web design best practices, design tools, social media metrics and dashboards.
