Position Summary: The Development Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Development and Director of Communications. The Development Assistant is responsible for all gift processing, acknowledgment production, and database entry, as well as acting as a liaison with the St. George’s Parents Group. The Development Assistant works closely with the members of the Advancement Team to support all Advancement Office goals, as well as plan and implement other school events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for the data integrity in the Raiser’s Edge database management system • Input all information in the Raiser’s Edge database including: parent, grandparent and student records, as well as all gift processing and acknowledgment production • Continually update and correct database records • Responsible for providing administrative support for the annual giving campaign, as well as other fundraising priorities • Coordinate and execute direct mailings • Track annual fund participation and communicate this information to the Director of Development • Support the St. George’s Parents Group fundraising events and parent dinners. • Assist the Director of Communications in gathering photos and information for news stories • Design and create e-blasts using Constant Contact • Assist with alumni outreach events • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development
Qualification Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a minimum of three years' experience in an administrative position, preferably in an independent school Advancement Office • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail and to efficiently manage several work assignments and tasks simultaneously • Positive attitude, relationship-building skills, and a strong, responsible work ethic • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, to think ahead and be a problem-solver • Proficiency with all Microsoft applications, including Excel and Word mail merge applications, as well as experience working with a variety of database systems. Experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge preferred. • Proficiency with Google Tools, social media and photo editing software preferred • Willingness to work occasional evening events as necessary
