The Program Assistant will provide main office coverage and customer service to faculty, students and visitors. S/he will provide administrative support to faculty and in the areas of undergraduate studies, department events and alumni relations.

Maintains spare keys for faculty, staff and visitor offices.
Ensures common areas are organized and clean and orders supplies as needed.
Assists faculty with copy jobs, recommendation letter uploads, website updates, ordering course packs, ANU exam scheduling, and special projects.
Assists Assistant Director with special projects like junior faculty recruitment and visitor management.
First point of contact for faculty, students and visitors entering the main office.
Second point of contact for classroom A/V issues.
Sets up new mailboxes and sorts mail and packages.
Provides information via phone, e-mail, mail, etc.
Supports undergraduate initiatives including data entry, daily online newsletter coordination, and updating bulletin boards.
Issues permission numbers and adds pre-registration codes in SES.
Manages text book and desk copy orders and updates data in SES.
Manages TA office hours and calendars.
Assists Assistant Director with special projects such as student honors and awards, graduation luncheon, NET tournament etc.
Enters student major and minor email addresses in listserv to receive daily department announcements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Assists Event Coordinator, Assistant Director and Business Administrator as needed.
HS diploma or equivalent required.
2 years' administrative support or other relevant experience required.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Intermediate knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software programs is required.
Strong customer service skills.
Attention to detail and multi-tasking.
Excellent initiative and resourcefulness.
Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Adept in social media, specifically LinkedIn and Facebook. Basic photo editing skills desired or willing to learn. Ability to see the big picture and understand the purpose behind the tasks of the position.
