Reporting to the Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition, the Senior Recruiter will be responsible for owning and managing the full recruitment cycle for staff positions at all levels within the University. Responsibilities include serving as a talent partner with various levels of leadership to proactively identify hiring requirements. Skilled at finding talented individuals to meet the organization's needs, develop and execute recruitment strategies and maintain a strong network of contacts to help identify and source quality candidates. Identifies talent, conducts initial interviews, and manages candidates through the interview process. Works with hiring managers to develop and recommend recruiting strategies to ensure positions are filled in a given time frame. Consults with hiring managers on staffing and recruitment policies, ensures compliance with Federal, State, and APU guidelines. Updates applicant tracking system and other systems, prepares and places job postings across appropriate media. Coordinates and performs reference and background checks. Seeks to ensure a positive candidate and new hire experience.
Bachelor's degree required.
Seven plus years of full-cycle HR recruitment experience, University setting preferred.
Five plus years of demonstrated success in recruiting for technology positions and management professionals preferred.
Demonstrated success in diversity hiring initiatives.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
Establishes recruiting requirements by meeting with or scheduling phone calls with managers to discuss recruitment needs.
Maintains a database and talent pool of qualified applicants.
Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements using job boards and specialty sites.
Willingness to be active on social media forums, attend career fairs, make cold calls, and other creative methods to locate talent.
Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications and makes appropriate recommendations.
Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants, analyzing responses, comparing qualifications to job criteria.
Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications.
Highlights organization attractiveness by emphasizing APU benefits and other perks.
Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers.
Updates job knowledge by reading professional publications and e-newsletters; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.
Performs other duties as required by the supervisor.
