1. Provide thought leadership around communications and visual/written identity for Tsai CITY. Develop a multi-year strategic plan around communication strategies to highlight diversity and inclusivity. 2. Creates content and designs to promote upcoming events, programs, and application deadlines through email, CITY newsletter, CITY website, event software, and social media to attract diverse groups of students, and to establish CITY's identity among students as supporting interdisciplinary collaborations and innovation in non-traditional disciplines. 3. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with media representatives. Identifies opportunities to work with other the departments, university publications and the Office of Public Affairs to develop and publicize stories. Lead, coordinate, and create identities, content, and communications for cross-campus collaborations. 4. Manages delivery channels for newsworthy content, including updating and maintaining the CITY-related websites (city.yale.edu, startupyale.com, and entrepreneurshipacrossyale.com), social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, LinkedIn), and articles for email newsletters, and creating video, print, and on-campus events. Use those platforms to build and connect communities of students. Continues to build a robust and dynamic social media presence through additional videos, coordinated output around specific themes and initiatives, and the creation of online groups. 5. Assesses student startups for newsworthiness and create compelling news and public relations content. Creates engaging, dynamic content for the public, including press releases, blog articles, website updates, newsletter articles and social media. Develops and executes marketing campaigns to promote upcoming events, programs, and application deadlines through email, CITY newsletter, CITY website, event software, and social media. Ensures consistent look and tone for all department communications, including written content, website and social media. 6. Write and distribute a weekly e-newsletter which serves as a comprehensive source of upcoming innovation-related events, programs, and news for students, as well as campus and community partners. Design graphics, brochures, posters, and other collateral for Tsai CITY and Tsai CITY programs. 7. Hire and manage student coordinators and contributors to Tsai CITY's social media, blog, video and other content and platforms. 8. Write regular blog posts and press releases related to student projects, startups and events. Work with students to develop creative methods and platforms to document and share what students are doing. Build local, regional, and national media relationships to draw attention to CITY's work on issues of importance including impact, diversity, women in innovation, and cross-campus/interdisciplinary collaborations. 9. Lead, coordinate, and create identities, content, and communications for cross-campus collaborative events and initiatives, like Startup Yale and the Yale Social Entrepreneurship Collaborative. 10. Seeks out, negotiates with and recommends external organizations that can provide services that optimize both the cost and functionality of the new communications strategy. Ensures that all communications conform to the University guidelines. 11. Pitch in when needed! Get involved with other CITY activities and initiatives to provide support and diversity of thought.
