The UIC Intercollegiate Athletics department is seeking a Media Writer / Producer / Announcer I to assist with our Athletics Digital Platform.
Key Responsibilities / Duties: •Shoot, edit and produce regular video content that is unique and promotes the department’s brand, grabs attention, drives conversation and fan engagement for the UIC Flames through the athletic department’s web site and its social media channels. •Produce and package long-form feature stories that showcase the student-athlete experience at UIC in order to help the department, its teams and student-athletes better tell their stories. •Deliver videos that creatively engage audiences to drive revenue through ticket sales and event attendance. •Collaborate with colleagues to determine appropriate distribution mediums, create concepts, plan production, and produce media (including logistics coordination, video shooting, music and sound effect selection, computer graphics, animation, digital effect creation and editing). •Work with internal stakeholders to develop a content plan and calendar for each of UIC’s 20 teams in order to promote programs in an equitable way. •Assist with the production of unique video content for in-venue video boards. •Build motion graphics that are consistent with UIC’s brand to promote teams, student-athletes and events. •Maintain strong grasp of current industry trends and ensure that UIC remains at the forefront of the digital media landscape in college athletics. •Serve as liaison between athletic department, Horizon League, ESPN and other broadcast outlets. •Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Required:
Any one or any combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) of the following types of preparation:
a) Progressively more responsible work experience in the production and presentation of radio or television programs, social media, and/or print or online journalism
b) Vocational training in radio and/or television production, journalism, social media, news or feature writing and/or announcing or closely related fields
c) College course work in radio/television, journalism, social media, news or feature writing or closely related fields
60 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
75 semester hours equals one (1) year and six (6) months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
120 semester hours or a Bachelor’s degree equals three (3) years (36 months)
Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.).
Knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery.
Knowledge of camera, lighting, sound and editing techniques.
Understanding of online video environment and online distribution.
