Full Time 40 hours Grade 054 Ofc of HR - Assoc VP's Office Responsibilities General Purpose: Develops and implements communications strategies and programs for the Office of Human Resources (HR), and promotes its initiatives and offerings to University of Rochester employees. Ensures the clarity and distribution of messages through relevant communication channels while strengthening and increasing the communityâ™s knowledge and understanding of Human Resourcesâ™ mission, initiatives, goals, projects, and policies. Supports the Universityâ™s comprehensive and ongoing efforts for diversity and inclusion that align with the institutionâ™s mission, vision, and values, as well as the Universityâ™s strategic communications plan. Counsels both HR and University leadership on effective communication approaches and tools. Responsible for the HR website; ensure that it is user-focused and grounded in the employee experience. Collaborate closely with University Communications to ensure alignment with Communicationsâ™ strategy and best practices. Responsibilities: Under general direction and with latitude for independent judgment: Strategic Communications: Collaborates with HR, University Communications, and University leadership to understand HRâ™s business priorities, and develops communications plans that are strategic, executable, and measurable. Develops plans and content for a variety of audiences, including University leadership, the HR community and University community. Elevates awareness and understanding of Human Resources strategy, priorities, results, tools, products, processes, policies, programs, and/or changes. In consultation with HR program managers, develops strategies and content related to specific programs and initiatives, and to manage an editorial calendar. Aligns and integrates communications objectives of all units within the Office of HR through partnership and planning. Determines the most effective channels for a variety of HR communications. Recommends and executes the improvement of current channels and the development of additional channels to achieve communication objectives. Engages and partners with offices across the University as necessary to garner support for, align messaging to, and ensure acceptance of communications in advance of distribution. Measures effectiveness of communication efforts, actively reviews results and suggests adjustments to improve effectiveness based on those results. Conducts audience research and analysis, including focus groups, surveys, and market research. Incorporates findings into recommendations for leadership. Content Creation and Publication Management: Translates strategic goals into content, developing internal and external content for presentations, leadership reviews, and print and digital publications, including HR Board of Trustees, HR Quarterly Reviews, HR Forum, HR Talking Points, HR Intercom, and a variety of HR programs and processes. Coordinates workflow and content for HR publications. In coordination with communications and HR colleagues, creates a variety of materials such as articles, reports, e-news, social media posts, brochures, posters, and other promotional materials; edits for clarity and accuracy, ensures consistency with the Universityâ™s editorial policies and standards, and that appropriate approval is obtained. Manages relationships with vendors related to the development and execution of creative media ( e.g. graphic animation, video, etc.). Website Management: Develops strategy for the HR website, ensuring the website meets the business needs of the organization and employees, represents the best practices for web communications, and aligns with University Communicationsâ™ strategy. In alignment with strategy, provides ongoing management of the HR website, overseeing the development of web content and work across HR units. Qualifications: Bachelorâ™s degree and a minimum five years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field; or an equivalent of education and experience. Masterâ™s degree with five to seven years of experience in an HR environment preferred.
