Working Title Publications Editor and Content Specialist
Eastern Washington University is currently seeking a 100% time Publications Editor and Content Specialist. This position is responsible for the clarity, editorial accuracy and “voice” of all written content, print and website.
The Publications Editor/Content Specialist develops content, interviews and writes for Eastern24/7 online news and information site for faculty and staff. This position writes copy for collateral materials, print and online, and edits research reports and other publications. The publications editor/content specialist works with the senior publications editor and content specialist and other staff in the Marketing & Communications Office to manage much of the editorial output of the organization emanating from departments, such as academics, student affairs and advancement. This position helps coordinate content across digital platforms, including social media.
Additionally, the publications editor/content specialist works on strategic plans, fundraising initiatives and other marketing projects to benefit and advance the university.

Conditions of Employment
Position requires ability to work evenings and weekends as assigned to cover events.
This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.
This position requires a B.A. degree in Journalism, Communications Studies, Public Relations or related degree.
Three years' professional experience as an editor, writer and content developer working in print, electronic and web formats.
Ability to adapt to university standards and AP style guide.
Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.
Demonstrated success shaping a company's publications/website to be a key communications vehicle.
Proficiency with blogging software such as Word Press; experience with social media platforms and coordinating content over multiple digital channels.
