COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR , Koch Institute (KI) for Integrative Cancer Research , to support KI communications efforts through the creation and dissemination of written, visual, and multimedia content about cancer research at MIT for diverse audiences, including alumni, donors, biotech/pharma, press, the general public, and the MIT/KI community. Responsibilities will include writing, editing, and posting short- and long-form content, including brief updates and feature pieces for the KI newsletter and website, MIT campus news, press releases, and social media; maintaining and developing communication channels, including websites, newsletters, social media, and collateral; coordinating communications projects for KI events and programs; maintaining and developing infographics and KI branding assets including logos and templates; carrying out and contributing to communications strategy; monitoring news feeds, publications, and trends to help select news for coverage; and performing media analytics.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; at least three years' experience conveying complex information to general audiences using a variety of tools, preferably in an academic, research, or STEM setting; strong written communication skills; demonstrated time management skills; proficiency with a range of communications platforms; ability to work collaboratively and independently; strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills; excellent proofreading skills and a sharp eye for detail; experience designing print and digital materials using Adobe Creative Cloud; and experience producing multimedia (photo, video, audio). Strong interest in life sciences, biomedical engineering, or cancer is preferred; as is experience working with press/media. Writing and project samples may be requested. Job #16245-N
