The College of Engineering at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University invites applications and nominations for its Director of Communications position. The Director of Communications is a direct report to the Dean of the College. This position plans and implements communication and media relations strategies to advance the COE and publicize its research, programs, and people to internal and external local, national, and international audiences. This key role requires the fast-paced execution of information in electronic, written, and verbal mediums in partnership with the departments and centers of the COE. Success in the role requires the Director to be a fast learner, enjoy interacting with people; and skilled in the active preparation and dissemination of COE news content for diverse audiences and stakeholders.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in the area of assignment, of which at least one is supervisory or in a lead-worker capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Strongly preferred experience, skills training, and education include:
1. Five or more years of directly relevant work experience. 2. Skilled in using photography to capture milestones, and people in situations and real-life events. 3. Demonstrated experience in working through social media platforms, hardcopy, and web-based platforms. 4. Able to submit evidence of relevant prior products. 5. Evidence of ability to apply creativity and knowledge to produce results in a fast paced working environment. 6. A self starter and quick learner who enjoys working with people.
Preferred: 1.Experience working with technical subject matter 2.Experience with online content management systems.
