We are looking for a talented digital (video/social media) coordinator to produce and generate original content for a variety of platforms, particularly video and online content. You will also be responsible for managing social media accounts and generating social media content.
Content development/social media management: - Produces/scripts/edits video content. - Writes and edits material, particularly video, for web pages and social media. - Understands best practices for engaging with audiences on social media and online. - Writes and edits material for feature stories, magazines, reports, scripts, ad copy, and other content as needed. - The position may write on any topic in which the university is engaged. - The position may supervise student writers.
Media Relationship Management - Stewards relationships with commercial news media to generate earned media coverage that supports strategic goals
Opportunity Development - Works to sustain currency on emerging communications technology and higher education trends - Seeks opportunities to promote collaboration throughout the department and with other departments. - Other duties as assigned
Experience in developing/crafting video news/feature packages and stories, including online platforms.
Experience producing content for social media accounts including generating, editing, publishing, and sharing daily and/or regular content.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including flexibility in writing style and tone.
Command of the Microsoft suite of office software.
Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of personalities and to articulate a wide variety of issues.
Experience in the communications profession as a news reporter, producer, or editor, or a position assigned to interact with news professionals.
Experience writing advertising copy.
Experience with developing strategic/action plans.
Experience working with public policymakers.
Excellent presentation skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to write and/or speak Spanish.
Ability to respond quickly and effectively to uncertainty and constant changes.

Salary: Dependent upon qualifications and experience
Working Conditions: Work is performed in indoor and outdoor settings with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
