The Senior Graduate Student Specialist I, will help lead the design, development and implementation of university-wide programs and initiatives that support the academic and professional success of graduate and professional students.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six years' experience in office administration or project management, including some supervisory experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Skills to effectively interact with diverse constituencies and to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff work teams, other units of the campus, and outside organizations.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Five years of experience working with Graduate Student programs.
Five yearsâ™ experience in office administration or project management including some supervisory experience. Demonstrated leadership experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to balance conflicting priorities and make decisions based on approaching deadlines.
Strong desire to work with graduate and professional students, faculty, and administrators from a wide range of fields across the University.
Salary Range: $40,712.00 - $52,312.00
Organizes and delivers seminars, workshops, and other events in support of academic and professional development and community-building among graduate and professional students. Leads the selection and nomination process and associated recognition activities for fellowships, graduate, and professional student awards.
Assists in the development of strategy and implementation of data collection initiatives regarding graduate and professional student experiences and career outcomes. Analyzes retention and attrition data to identify trends and potential solutions. Works collaboratively with internal and external personnel to increase retention. Creates and delivers presentations on the outcome of key efforts.
Utilizes our website presence, email, social media platforms, listservs, etc. to ensure timely and accurate delivery of information and news related to graduate and professional student success.
Develops, monitors, and tracks expenditures related to student retention, related programming, and event planning. Performs other duties as assigned.
