The Senior Communications Coordinator assists with key day-to-day functions across the communications team. The position provides exposure to a breadth of activity across the communications team, and the specialist will have a role in high-priority communications projects throughout the organization. The Coordinator will have the opportunity to hone his or her skills through helping to manage the school’s relationship with the media; contributing to reporting and measurement of the external communications team’s strategic goals; and writing enterprise news stories.
Please note: Evening and weekend hours are occasionally necessary when workload or event coverage requires it.
In partnership with external communications team, promote Kellogg’s reputation to the business community and prospective students through proactive and reactive media relations.
Lead research to aid the external communications team in making strategic decisions regarding media inquiries and reporter relationships.
Partner with social media coordinator to ensure that media coverage is amplified across appropriate Kellogg-owned channels.
Media Reporting & Analytics:
Drive weekly and monthly media reporting and measurement aligned with the external communications team’s strategic goals.
Partner with social media coordinator to drive monthly reporting of thought leadership performance on Kellogg-owned social media channels, as needed.
Draft content (e.g., news stories, event recaps, website copy, social media posts) for Kellogg-owned channels, as needed.
Intern Team Management:
Partner with Associate Director of External Communications to recruit, retain and develop a team of four part-time undergraduate interns serving the external communications team.
Manage the day-to-day workflow of intern team, serving as ongoing manager and mentor.
Performs other duties as assigned.
A bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.

Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
1–3 years’ experience in an entry-level marketing, communications or public relations role.

Familiarity with scaled nonprofit and higher education environments.
