Help Desk Support Specialist II, School of Art
The college of Fine Arts is seeking a Help Desk Support Specialist II for the Computer Help Desk area on the third floor of the Art and Design building. This is a 16 hours per week position which involves providing technical assistance to computer users including faculty and staff. It also includes providing classroom support and technical support for classroom applications and Mason applications. The prospective employee will be asked to perform the following duties on a daily basis:
Install software, setup accounts, and debug applications;
Classroom support: AV systems, printers, projectors, and tech equipment;
Assist faculty and staff with adjusting software system configurations; and
Assist faculty and staff with using various resources such as learning new Mason applications and third-party applications.
Significant experience in Information Technology;
Advanced knowledge of Mac OS systems, and Apple peripherals such as iPads, iPhones, Apple TV;
Experience with hardware and imaging software;
Knowledge of classroom technology including projectors, AV systems, printers and peripherals;
Understanding of networking concepts, file sharing, and cloud computing;
Experience with software applications used in Higher Education such as video conferencing, messaging, online teaching;
Customer Service skills;
Positive attitude; and
Able to work with a team or independently.
Knowledge of social media applications and web design;
Programming skills; and
Familiarity with Mason software applications and Higher Education environments.
Workdays: Tuesday and Thursday From 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Salary: $20-25, commensurate with education and experience
