This Communications Manager position is responsible for Mayo Clinic’s reputation and crisis communications operations functions. This experienced communications professional will be responsible to scan and assess industry trends, work closely with reputation and crisis communications functional leads across the Department of Public Affairs, conduct real-time reporting and rapid response efforts, and create and update departmental protocols, templates, education and training.
Qualified candidate oversees a functional area of responsibility and/or serves as a role model, expert and mentor in their field of communications, media relations, social media, digital, news and/or staff engagement communications activities. This individual takes an active leadership role to successfully drive, develop, implement, monitor and measure results of communications efforts to advance Mayo Clinic’s strategic plan and business objectives.
Qualifications: •A bachelor’s degree in a related field, which may include liberal arts, business, communications, marketing, health care, or similar field.
•10 years professional experience in the field of communications is required.
•Reputation and crisis management experience in large, complex organizations.
•Experience developing and implementing shared communications best practices.
•Comfort aggregating and analyzing industry metrics.
•Broad understanding of multiple communications disciplines (internal, media, social, etc.).
