The Associate Director of Communications is responsible for supporting and executing communications strategies and tactics in alignment with the strategic communications and marketing plan of the College of Health Sciences and Professions. The associate director will report directly to the Sr. Director of Communications and Marketing. The successful candidate will develop a variety of internal and external communications and will be responsible for production and oversight of college photography, videos and publications; creating presentations; writing for, and overseeing design of, the college website; overseeing distribution of press releases; social media content; and alumni communications. This position will manage one or more communicators in the department and work with the senior director to create proactive opportunities for effectively delivering CHSP’s message through various organizational communication channels; oversee editing of CHSP communications; collaborate with the communications and marketing team to ensure message fidelity and the highest quality execution to achieve program goals; maintain a central plan that is constantly mining for and developing positive content for CHSP publications, news releases, social media messages, and internal communications.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
Minimum: at least three (3) years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field; superior oral and written skills to effectively communicate within and outside for the college; experience in messaging in a variety of channels, including multimedia, web and through social media; strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines by maintaining a high level of organization; minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
Previous work experience in a higher education setting; expertise in InDesign, Drupal CMS, CRM such as Salesforce, email marketing platform such as Hatchbuck
