As we celebrate our 80th Anniversary, Dixie Electric Cooperative is currently seeking a career minded Communications Representative at the Montgomery Office location. This exciting career opportunity includes responsibilities and assignments, as follows:
Assisting with the development of Dixie’s internal and external publications, communications and advertising materials;
Writing, editing, and designing various cooperative publications;
Preparing presentations, speeches, press and/or news releases; Assisting with special projects and events;
Assisting with content development for the Cooperative’s social media and website;
Taking photographs and videos;
Participating in civic and community programs and projects;
Assisting with the setup for displays at trade shows;
Assisting with school programs, and;
Assisting with purchasing of items promoting Cooperative’s image.
Requirements for the position include a Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related field. Excellent communications, writing, editing, graphic design, photography and interpersonal skills are required, videography skills are preferred. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator is a must. Applicants should be prepared to present a portfolio of work samples to demonstrate the skills required. An equivalence of education and experience may be considered. Also, a valid driver’s license is required.
