This position is in the Clark-Fox Policy Institute & Social Policy Institute located at Hillman Hall at the Danforth Campus.
This position creates and disseminates informational and promotional materials – print and digital – on behalf of the Social Policy Institute (SPI) and the Clark-Fox Policy Institute (CFPI) and oversees a range of communications, financial, and administrative needs for SPI and CFPI. Additionally, this position will oversee the production of special events such as panel discussions, symposiums, conferences and other special events.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing Communications and Dissemination
Create and manage calendar of speakers and events for promotional purposes.
Create marketing strategy for speakers and events.
Build distribution lists and support maintenance of client management tool.
Produce and distribute select print and digital promotional materials, including posters, flyers, newsletters, presentations and invitations.
Support dissemination and promotion of a wide range of policy initiatives and projects with unique reporting and brand considerations.
Proofread materials and check adherence to Brand standards prior to production.
Assist with production projects, including vendor relations.
Update and maintain website.
Serve as a liaison with Brown Communications Office and WUSTL Public Affairs office, collaborating to ensure visibility of the work, intellectual capital, and achievements in internal University publications and in the news media.
Oversee development and production of SPI and CFPI events, such as panel discussions, symposium, conferences and community/stakeholder meetings.
Planning event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, and guest list.
Ability to delegate event planning tasks to other staff members where necessary.
Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organizing vendors, and managing take-down.
Communicating with Brown School communications team to ensure promotion coordination.
Create and coordinate content for posting of events and news to internal and external websites and social media.
Oversee scheduling and prepare students, faculty, staff and alumni for interviews and photo and video shoots related to marketing activities.
Develop and manage a departmental system to track expenses and associated estimates against actual costs, track expenses, complete expense reports, and assist .with budget planning for communications and events.
Assist in managing and tracking of event expenses, reimbursements, vendor invoices and purchase orders.
Provide training and support to SPISPI and CFPI colleagues on communications systems, Style Guide, and document formatting.
Coordinate working with external vendors (graphic designers, editors, etc.) as needed.
Work with Service Center to maintain brand standards and manage a routine inventory of printed collateral materials.
Participate in regular departmental meetings.
Other activities as assigned
High school degree and 4 years of print production or marketing experience or Bachelors degree and 1 year.
Candidate should hold bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business or related field, with five years’ experience, with at least one of year in a higher education setting.

The hiring range for this position is $18.80 - $23.99 per hour.
